We would be delighted to sing in your town, for a company or private function, or for a charitable event! One of our main goals is to increase the number of run-out concerts that we perform, and to increase the visibility and name-recognition of our organization.
Our members are used to traveling out of town, in fact we welcome the opportunity to break away from our familiar surroundings, so give us a call! Members usually travel to out of town performances by their own means, most of them opting to carpool with other singers, but let us worry about those details.
In-state performance rates are as follows:
Full concert (90 minutes±),
Contact us for rates at:
[email protected]
Phone: (803) 765-0777
We can also assemble a smaller group of singers for special rates, which are ideal for smaller functions.
Community Service performances are encouraged and welcomed, however we get many requests, and they are honored on a first-come, first-serve basis, depending on the exposure that our group will receive from the performance and what is logistically involved with the performance. We have performed for the Junior League, the AIDS Benefit Foundation, the Lexington Medical Center Cancer Research Unit, the Rotary Club, and many others.
Need help financing a concert?
Many of the small towns that we have sung in receive special grants to pay for or subsidize our performance fees. The South Carolina Arts Commission can assist you in locating a special grant for this purpose.
Many counties also have Cultural Councils that give grants for this purpose, so check with them too. They can also help in promoting the concert.
Check with your local Chamber of Commerce to see if they would be interested in donating funds, or helping to publicize a concert. Mastersinger concerts are great for tourism, and your local Chamber of Commerce is a great place to get helpful ideas on how to promote and finance a concert.
Facility & Technical Requirements
We have performed in just about any sort of a facility imaginable, from outdoors, to tiny small-town theaters and church's, to Carnegie Hall. Where there is a will, there is a way.
Staging & Risers: To accommodate the full choir, we would need a stage with risers that could hold 60 men. If your facility cannot accommodate such a large group, we can assemble a smaller group singers to perform for your function (usually at reduced rates).
Piano: We would prefer a grand piano but upright pianos will do the job alright. Please make sure that it is tuned prior to the concert. If the facility does not already have a piano, the rental and tuning of one generally costs in the neighborhood of $500±. We provide our own accompanist.
Sound & Lighting: Our only lighting requirement is that we be able to see our music when we are on stage. Our sound requirements vary with each location. For smaller facilities, we often do not need special sound systems because of the full rich sound that our 70± voices produce, but it depends on each location.
Dressing Rooms: Dressing rooms are not required for performances locally, but we would appreciate at least three dressing rooms or dressing areas for out-of-town performances (one for our Director, one for our Accompanist, and one for our singers).
Beverages: We would greatly appreciate it if you could provide us with water and disposable cups so that we would not have to haul it with us.
As we like to say, "Where there is a will, there is a way". We have other ideas that we can share with you that would help in financing and planning a concert, which we would love to discuss with you. We are very easy going and are not hard to please. Please don't hesitate to call me at (803) 765-0777, or email us at [email protected].
We look forward to hearing from you soon!
